With the PolyCT m7v, the X-RAYLAB present an intuitively usable measurement device extension that enables measurement time savings of up to 30% with minimal effort.
This enables automation for small to medium-sized series at a very affordable price and with little programming effort. This device is ideal for vertical radiography systems and computer tomography.

Get more out of your existing X-ray system!anlage!
One of the current trends in X-ray testing is the automation of CT and radiographic testing.
The complexity of such automation solutions is generally high and is often only possible for large series due to the high acquisition costs.
For existing CT and DR systems, the adaptation of such complex, mostly robot-based, placement machines are only possible to a limited extent. In addition, the automation of samples that depend on an angular position to be individually set by the user is hardly feasible. Here, the PolyCT m7v offers a cost-effective solution that can be implemented quickly and cheaply.
Greater efficiency through better ergonomics
Here, the PolyCT m7v offers an effective solution that minimizes the long set up times when changing samples by opening the doors and loading and unloading the system.
The number of setup processes can be minimized many times over, which leads to better ergonomics in the test laboratory.
High resolution CT recordings can run unattended overnight. Here, the PolyCT m7v functions as an inexpensive sample storage and replaces a much more expensive automation, e.g. by a robot.
n 2D X-ray examinations, the PolyCT m7v shows its advantages over the conventional test method in multi-position images. The programmed positions can be approached and evaluated without reclamping the test specimens.
Setup time = dead time
By pre-assembling several test specimens for 2D radiation, the set-up time is reduced to a minimum without significant costs for the automation effort.
CT exams can be performed unattended. This enables the test specimens to be examined overnight.
Setup
The measuring unit can be used without interfering with the mechanics or the system software of the system. There is no need for integration by the system manufacturer.
The measuring device is simply clamped directly into an existing chuck instead of the sample or fixed on a flat turntable using an adapter device. In addition, the measuring device is secured against rotation using a flexibly lockable measuring stand.
A magnetic or suction cup lock is available for fixing the measuring device extension.
The objects to be tested are fixed in the universally usable sample holders.
We would be happy to help you with the construction of sample holders with quick-release fasteners. For the reconstruction of the projections, the reconstruction software provided by the system manufacturer can be used, or else reconstruction software from XRAY-LAB with integrated artifact reduction in order to obtain even better and more precise results.
Field of application
Depending on the type and geometry of the object to be tested, different clamping devices can be used. These can be varied in size and thus allow the use of 7, 6, 5, 4, 3 or 2 turning centers.
The standard scope of delivery includes 7 sample holders, each with a diameter of 20 mm. Optionally, any sample recordings can be made for the special application.
Measurement procedure
Depending on the sample size, different numbers of samples can be placed on the unit at the same time. Each sample is then placed individually in the X-ray beam at the desired magnification.
Numerous X-ray systems offer the possibility of a macro sequence control in which the uniquely set up measuring positions can be approached automatically. This makes it easy to automate the process and further relieve the user.
